Sustain-A-Bowl

Sustain-a-bowl is a social and sustainable focused community kitchen business in Arnhem, the Netherlands. We serve delicious, affordable, nutritious, and vegan meals from collected food waste in a social inclusive place where people from diverse backgrounds can come together and enjoy a meal.
Our goal aims to focus on reducing and reusing food waste while consequently raising awareness and educating people about the unjust distribution of food, the large amount of food waste and how to reuse and reduce food waste.
This food waste issue brings inequalities where those with low income cannot afford proper meals.
That is why this concept aims to reach those who cannot afford healthy meals and for those who are environmentally friendly oriented who would like to join our combat against food waste.

Product description

Sustain-A-Bowl is a community kitchen concept that aims to combat food waste by ‘saving’ fruit and vegetables from grocery stores that would otherwise have been thrown away. Social inclusion is established through the donation-based payment system of the kitchen.  

Our team

The team of Sustain-A-Bowl consist of five driven International Development Management Students that care about tackling food waste in their daily lives and aim to contribute to decreasing local and global food waste among the supply chain and on consumer level. We are a diverse group with different interests and traits, complementing each other within the business.
